my point exactly! Having been in this field for 15 years, I think it is dangerous to go mucking around in any paranormal arena with a "I'm looking for a scream, or just playing around" attitude, nothing to be played around with for sure! I've seen many get "burned" so to speak because they go around with the attitude that it's all fun and games. My point I guess is that the spiritual realm is around us 24/7 both good and evil existing so to nonchalantly approach a Ouija board, an evp recorder, an ovilus whatever may place you too close to the fire if you are inexperienced....so sorta if you play you might pay.....with whatever communication device you are using. Kids at a slumber party asking the Ouija board if Tommy is going to ask Suzy to the prom are in a different category than Joe Schmo ghost explorer asking to communicate with the "being" in the abandoned mental hospital...mho......thanks for you response! Love the dialogue

thank you everyone for answering my question as well about the Spirit Box, that is an interesting box I wouldn't mind having....and also I do agree that some show's that do the ghost hunts how they act towards the dead, thinking they can't be hurt buy taunting demons and bad spirits, now I know that a demon can wait along time before attack making that person think he won and the demon is gone, hehe..that's how they attack is when you forget about what you did to them, but they have not forgotten, yes I too agree a job should be well respected when you go into a haunting even if they fight u i think it is best to get a person that can deal with them, because the person doing the investigation is just that what there suppose to do and leave the cleansing to one with real knowledge. unless I am wrong but that is how I see it.

In regards to Ouija Boards and EVP's, there was possibly at some point a forum here on it as well as chatter in recent days on Twitter about it as well. There was also discussion on Twitter about spirit communication using flash lights.

Ouija boards are quite different from EVP's and for the main sake of safety, I discourage folks from using them as an entertainment value. In my eyes, that is wreckless behavior; but no more so than instigating a spirit or using other forms of communication with the spirit world - scrying, channeling, seances, etc.

The bad rap that many of these venues have received have come from people who are absolutely clueless or are narrow-minded in regards to the spirit world. In addition, kids as well as adults who are looking for a good "scare" often open doorways that they have no idea how to handle. They take no precautionary measures or invoke any type of prayers or other means of protection.

With that said, EVP's are merely a way of grasping a response from the spirit world. In my experience with using EVP's, it is not only a form of validation but also a way to try and understand the spirits presence. Ghost boxes are another branch of hearing responses. I would disagree with someone who would state that EVP's or Ghost boxes are dangerous. It is merely like a "telephone" to the spirit world; allowing us to hear what they might have to say.

Regardless of how communication is sought, remembering that common sense should always be a must and throwing careless regard to the wind is what is dangerous. It doesn't matter if it is an enthusiast or a seasoned medium/sensitive/empath/investigator. Having an understanding of what you are doing always helps and if you do not know what you are doing, seek out the help and/or advice of someone who does.
It's not where they died or even where they lived. It's much simpler than that. They simply stay near what they loved. That's what keeps them here.
